Genoa have swooped for Velez Sarsfield striker Juan Manuel 'El Burrito' Martinez.

Genoa are understood to have struck terms worth €6 million with Velez for 'El Burrito'.

Martinez was already set to leave Velez last summer, but opted to remain after his wife gave birth, preferring to delay a move to Germany or England.

His nickname 'El Burrito' comes from his similarity to former Parma and Sampdoria man Ariel Ortega.
