Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has ruled out entering the team in the Intertoto Cup.

Preziosi said: "I repeat we're not interested in the Intertoto. I am the president of Genoa and my word still means something… The defeat to Empoli prevented us from qualifying for the UEFA Cup, now we must focus on the championship until the end.

"The Intertoto Cup has never been our objective, we will earn our place on the field."
