Genoa have made a move for Schalke 04 striker Kevin Kuranyi.

The Germany international comes off contract in June and his representatives held talks with Genoa president Enrico Preziosi last week.

A source close to negotiations told calciomercato.com: "There was contact, but the terms discussed were out of range of Genoa."

Preziosi has offered Kuranyi a deal worth €2 million-a-year, while the player seeking closer to double that.
