Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has confirmed Lucho Figueroa's proposed move to Boca Juniors is now off.

"I hope that Figueroa understands that his role is of third striker here," said Preziosi. "The final decision lies with him but, regardless of everything, Lucho will always be treated by us with utmost respect."

Preziosi admitted a sale to Boca in January could still be on.
