Genoa president Enrico Preziosi is convinced of success under new coach Fabio Liverani.

Genoa only just beat the drop from Serie A last season.

"Liverani? I wanted him as Coach last year," Preziosi told Gazzetta dello Sport. "It is certainly a choice that will bear fruit.

"We will meet again to evaluate Marco Borriello. He has cost us a lot already from Roma, and Gilardino would cost less than half that.

"Renewing Marco would be of great expense to us, but we still want to keep him.

"With Gilardino we are at a standstill at the moment."
