Serie A clubs Roma and Genoa are bracing themselves for offers to arrive from Real Madrid for their star strikers.
Roma ace Mirko Vucinic and Genoa's Diego Milito are both on Real's shopping list for the winter market as they seek a replacement signing for injured centre-forward Ruud van Nistelrooy.
In Roma's case, sports director Daniele Prade insisted last night: "Roma are not selling Vucinic.
"Real Madrid has never asked for Vucinic. I've spoken to (Real sports director Predrag) Mijatovic and there is nothing true. Vucinic is one of those players with whom we are discussing a contract renewal that expires in 2010."
Meanwhile, Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has confirmed Real have made an approach for Argentina international Milito.
He said: "Real Madrid has tried, there was a contact with the Spanish club through some intermediaries. But I simply replied that he is our attacker and will not move from Genoa."
