Genoa grateful to Roma over manner of Destro negotiations

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has praised AS Roma over the manner they signed striker Mattia Destro.

Destro, who is co-ownership with Siena, has all but completed his transfer to Roma.

"Roma and director Walter Sabatini deserve compliments for their behaviour," Genoa President Preziosi told Radio Manà Manà.

"The transfer risked collapsing many times, but in football it can happen that someone gives their word and keeps it."

Preziosi confirmed Destro will join Roma on loan with option to buy plus co-ownership of youth team players Valerio Verre and Giammario Piscitella.

"I can say it is a loan with option to buy, but the figures given are not accurate. It is true that Piscitella and Verre will join on co-ownership agreements and the latter will go to Siena in order to gain experience.

"We are not in talks for Marco Borriello, as we have Alberto Gilardino and Ciro Immobile in his position, so we don't need him. I haven't heard anything about the reported swap between Giandomenico Mesto and Giuseppe Sculli with Lazio either."
