Genoa have emerged as favourites to land Shakhtar Donetsk striker Cristiano Lucarelli.
Shakhtar are willing to send Lucarelli back to Italy on-loan for the rest of the season and Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has made a major move for the centre-forward.
The presence of Cristiano's brother, Alessandro, at Genoa is seen as key to swinging a deal in their favour ahead of rivals Palermo, Torino and Parma.
