Genoa are chasing Japan midfielder Yashuito Endo.
Datasport says Genoa representatives are expected to fly out for talks with Gamba Osaka on August 6.
The 30-year-old international is thought to be worth around £2.5m and scored a splendid free kick against Denmark in South Africa 2010.
Genoa signed the first ever Japanese player in Serie A when Kazuyoshi Miura joined them in 1994-95.
