Genoa defender Troest in Fulham trials

Danish defender Magnus Troest has joined Fulham on trial.

The 22-year-old is no stranger to Premier League football having spent two year with Aston Villa as a trainee.

He left Villa in 2005 and returned to his homeland with FC Midtjylland, where he shone.

Troest then moved to Parma in 2008 and he again performed well, playing nearly 30 games and helping the club into Serie A.

He was snapped up by Genoa earlier this summer, but he has failed to make an impression and has now been handed the chance to earn a switch to Craven Cottage.

Troest will spend the next week training with Fulham with a view to sealing a move to west London.

"I can confirm that I am on my way to England to meet a Premier League club," Troest told Sporten.

"I have a big desire to play in England and a transfer right now would suit me fine. I don't get to train with the A side at Genoa since they want to sell me.

"The English club wants to see me in action in training and match."
