Genoa defender Salvatore Bocchetti proud of Italy call

Genoa defender Salvatore Bocchetti is delighted to be back in the Italy squad.

Bocchetti has played for the Azzurri at Under-20, Under-21 and Olympic level, but is yet to make his senior debut.

“I am happy to be here after such a long injury, because this is the decisive phase of qualification for the next World Cup,” he said.

“We are concentrated on booking our ticket to the tournament. We don’t want to reach the Cyprus game with everything still up in the air.”
