Genoa have confirmed a bid made for Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma.

The Argentine midfielder was famously frozen out for six months amid a contract dispute but, unlike Goran Pandev, opted to remain at the club.

"We really like the player a lot and have no intention of denying our interest," confessed Genoa President Enrico Preziosi.

"First of all we need to understand what Claudio Lotito's intentions are. From what I understand, he doesn't want to sell, but the situation is a mystery.

"If President Lotito does put Ledesma on the market, then he should know we are interested.

"At that stage there would be the issue of deciding on his price-tag."
