Davide Ballardini has been confirmed as coach of Genoa for next season.

Growing pressure from players, fans and the media swayed president Enrico Preziosi.

It was confirmed by the club: “Genoa CFC announce the renewal of the contract with Coach Davide Ballardini and the members of his staff, Carlo Regno and Stefano Melandri, to June 30 2019."

Ballardini's first stint was from November 2010 to June 2011, then he was called back again in January 2013 to conclude the season.

He was brought in to replace Ivan Juric on November 6 2017 with the side risking relegation, but oversaw 11 wins, five draws and nine defeats.
