Genoa have announced the signing of Fiorentina wing-back Juan Manuel Vargas.

Terms were agreed with the Grifone last night.

"Genoa are close to signing Peruvian international Juan Manuel Vargas, who spent the last four seasons at Acf Fiorentina," read a statement.

"The agreements have been reached and, save for complications, will be ratified after the remaining paperwork is completed.

"Vargas will travel to Genoa and undergo a medical on Thursday. The 29-year-old is very experienced on the international stage and could have his first training session with Genoa tomorrow afternoon."
