Genoa chief Fabrizio Preziosi has confirmed they hope to sign Bordeaux midfielder Fernando Menegazzo.

The Brazilian is keen to return to Serie A, despite Bordeaux's success in Europe this season.

Preziosi Jr said: "He's a player who interests us, we have been following him for some time and although we are negotiating, until now we have not made any offer.

"We know the player wants to move to Genoa and we are considering whether to bid in the coming weeks."
