Genoa sporting director Stefano Capozucca has revealed they considered Luis Enrique as coach before his move to AS Roma in 2011.

Enrique lasted only 12 months with the Giallorossi.

"We didn't go looking for him, but he was offered to us," Capozucca told the Gazzetta Giallorossa.

"But there was no chance of him becoming our Coach because President Enrico Preziosi is not a lover of having foreign Coaches."
