Genoa and Atalanta are keenly monitoring Alessandro del Piero's contract talks with Juventus.

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi and Atalanta counterpart Ivan Ruggeri both would love to keep the 33 year-old in Serie A by making an offer to the veteran in January.

Del Piero's negotiations remain deadlocked and his performance on Friday against Young Boys of Berne did little to quell talk that the situation is beginning to weigh him down.

The striker played from the first minute, but failed to get a shot on target in the 1-1 friendly draw.
