Genoa have contacted AC Milan about a loan deal for their new Brazilian signing Thiago Silva.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Genoa hope to take the Brazil international in a temporary deal through to the end of the season.
Thiago cannot play for Milan this term because of a lack of an EU passport and director Ariedo Braida has given Genoa a positive response to their request.
However, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani still must be convinced about releasing Thiago and Genoa aren't expected to receive a definitive answer until next week.
