Genoa are prepared to send striker Robert Acquafresca on-loan to Lazio.

For his part, Acquafresca would prefer a return to former club Cagliari.

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi told lalaziosiamonoi.it: "We have reached an agreement with Lazio.

"As far as it concerns us, Acquafresca can settle in Rome, now the only thing missing is the agreement between Lazio and the player."

Meanwhile, Acquafresca categorically denied turning Lazio down last week.

"Right now I don't want to talk about it and I can't express myself on this business," he said.

"But there is one thing that I want to deny absolutely. I didn't refuse to play for Lazio and I didn't show hesitation."
