Gelson happy with first season at Man City

Gelson Fernandes is enjoying his first season at Manchester City.

"It is not a surprise to me that you have to have so much variation in your play because that is one of the beauties of the game in England. Different teams have their different styles and approaches to matches," Gelson told the Manchester Evening News.

"We know that the game against Birmingham away will probably be different to the one that follows against Chelsea, but to be successful you have to be able to deal with that while trying to impose your own style on games. You have to be able to shift your mentality; this league tests you at all levels.

"Everyone in the Premier League still has something to play for this season and the run-in promises to be exciting."

Fernandes added: "We want to play in Europe but we will see what happens from now on.

"But we will not earn that by talking about it. Sometimes there is too much talk about such things and not enough concentration on the games coming up. We have just to think of Birmingham next and then Chelsea, and if we keep doing that, then we can qualify for Europe."
