Jose Luis Gaya is pleased with his new deal at Valencia.

The fullback penned new terms earlier this week.

"It has been a process of maturity. What's good is that I have already gone through it at the age of 19. I have seen and I have heard so many lies. We decided, the club and my agents, not to speak. But everyone knew that my attention was to continue at Valencia. What's best was to be silent although at some times I would have liked to have talked. I heard that I signed for another team and that was a lie.

"I have always wanted to stay here despite the things that I have read that were uncertain. I do not know if offers arrived. I told my agents that my number one objective was to continue here."
