Gattuso incident shows Jordan has desire to manage Scotland - ex-Man Utd star McQueen

Gordon McQueen believes Joe Jordan's run-in with Gennaro Gattuso a few years ago shows he has the fire burning to take the reins as manager of Scotland.

When assistant manager at Tottenham, Jordan faced off with then AC Milan midfielder Gattuso during the 2010/11 Champions League and McQueen's old Leeds United and Manchester United teammate certainly did not back down.

McQueen has already spoken of Jordan's passion for the game and the fact he would make a great boss and has re-iterated those sentiments when speaking of that incident with Gattuso.

"There's something that burns in Joe," McQueen told SunSport.

"He'd never give a quarter to anyone as a player because he was always so desperate to get the better of his opponents.

"That has never left him and it never will.

"That incident with Gattuso just showed how desperate Joe is to do well. His fearlessness and drive will lift any squad."

He added: "Joe will command the respect of the Scotland players. He's got an amazing presence that is certain to gee them up.

"It will have benefited him massively being Harry's (Redknapp) right-hand man (at Spurs) for so long and he will have learned loads about man-management.

"He'd galvanise the troops and get the country behind the national side again."
