Rino Gattuso admits he was ready to quit AC Milan after they lost the Champions League final to Liverpool almost three years ago in Istanbul.

"After the final in Istanbul, I thought it was time to leave," revealed Gattuso. "At the time, I couldn't see any reason for me to stay.

"It was the most difficult moment of my career, but fortunately people at the club convinced me to stay."
