Palermo coach Rino Gattuso would like to see AC Milan's Massimiliano Allegri offered the Italy job.
Allegri admitted this week that he'd like a shot with the Azzurri.
"Allegri has the capability to do well," the Palermo boss, who worked under Allegri at San Siro, told Sky Sport Italia.
"Leading Italy is a great responsibility, but Max has shown that he is a very good tactician. He would do well if given the role.
"Am I aiming for the Italy job? For now I'm focused on taking Palermo into the top flight."
