Rino Gattuso admits he's already struck a friendship with new AC Milan teammate David Beckham.

Gattuso questioned the wisdom of signing Becks on-loan from LA Galaxy last month, but has been won over by the England midfielder during Milan's winter training camp in Dubai.

"Certainly, he is not as described," confessed Gattuso. "David is a humble guy and timid. Anything but the superstar we all presume ... I first met him with the national team when I played in England and scored my first goal for the Azzurri. Since then, I have never heard teammates talk badly about him.

"He's an incredible professional."
