Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini was delighted with his top-of-the-table team after their 4-1 thumping of Napoli.
Hernan Crespo scored his first goal for Genoa, with Sergio Floccari also getting on the scoresheet.
"The team has great self-belief and this incident put us under pressure, but it was important to go into the break with a draw. We are rarely in this situation and struggled a little, but turned up the tempo and managed the victory," said Gasperini.
"We are getting to know each other and building a solid team spirit. It is an advantage for us that we have so many games this season, as everyone is able to give their contribution and feel a part of our overall success.
"Some new players need time and more experience to settle in, but this is already well on the way. We have many young defenders and I need them to grow quickly, as it is a crucial area of the team, so they need to play regularly and learn on the job. Many of them are just over 20.
"It's my philosophy that if a player is in the squad then he has to play, otherwise he has no reason to be here."
