Gian Piero Gasperini says he's staying with Genoa next season.

The Italian media had reported this week Gasperini would leave his post in the summer.

But Genoa president Enrico Preziosi said: "We have a total agreement with Gasperini.

"He will remain with us next season and he will be involved in decisions in the transfer market."

Gasperini will attempt to lead Genoa into the Europa League over the final few weeks of the current campaign.

Last weekend's 1-0 loss to at derby rivals Sampdoria left the Grifoni six points behind the top six with five games remaining.

"We didn't make the most of our chances against Samp," said Gasperini. "We are disappointed with the result but we must turn the page.

"We face a difficult game at Parma and we need to be at our best."
