Gasperini: Genoa paid for poor start in Roma defeat

Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini says they paid for their poor start in defeat to AS Roma last night.

Marco Borriello and Matteo Brighi gave Roma only their second win of the season.

"There was that potential penalty incident on Luca Toni, but if the referee doesn't see the push, then there's nothing we can do," said the Coach.

"He was very close to the goal and it was a significant shirt tug. In any case, we didn't show that same tempo in a poor first half and that's what cost us.

"It takes pace to cause trouble for Roma and we didn't provide that consistently enough. In the second half, when 2-0 down, we finally moved the ball around well.

"Clearly on home turf we have a different tempo and must try to keep it on our travels too."
