Gasperini: Genoa an example for Italian football

Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini says the club is Italy's shining light.

"Before I came here, it had been described to me as a very difficult and complicated place to work, especially for a Coach," said the tactician.

"The fans were meant to expect the worst and be diffident towards the club, but instead they proved to be completely different. The supporters are enthusiastic and passionate.

"At this moment Genoa are truly a great example. In the three and a half years I've been here, there has never been a bad incident of fan violence.

"Despite it all, people say it's dangerous to have a stadium in the middle of the city, but I absolutely love it. Families come to Marassi, grandparents with generations of new supporters learning the same passion."
