Gasperini confident his Genoa primed for big Juventus clash

Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini is confident they can shake-off their defeat to Chievo Verona ahead of tonight's big game against Juventus.

"I did rotate the squad in that game, but also fielded Sergio Floccari, Houssine Kharja and Rodrigo Palacio, who were the three most expensive signings of the summer," pointed out Gasperini.

"If one of our objectives is to get the best out of young players, we cannot knock them down after a match like Chievo, nor hail them as superstars when they win away to Atalanta.

"Genoa are earning a certain credibility, but clearly we have to keep confirming our status with each game. Sometimes things don't go our way, but as time goes on we can define what our objectives are as a club.

"At the moment even I don't know what we are targeting - to get the best out of youngsters to sell them on for five times the price, to win the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia or Europa League."

Juventus have no such qualms, as Ciro Ferrara's squad are setting out to win it all, primarily aiming for the title.

"The results speak for themselves, Juve have strengthened a great deal with buys like Diego, Felipe Melo and Fabio Cannavaro.

"We have to be focused and take advantage of their errors, as tomorrow I think the difference will be in quality and determination."
