Gary Cahill excited by Chelsea's winning culture

Chelsea signing Gary Cahill is excited about the potential of defensive partnership with John Terry.

Having played with Terry for England, the 25-year-old believes they can form the sort of partnership his boyhood heroes Tony Adams and Martin Keown had for Arsenal and England.

He said: "The main thing I felt was the sense that people want to win things. No one says, 'Let's try to get as far as we can in the FA Cup'.

"Here, they aim to win it and other trophies too. That is what is so exciting."

Cahill started work at Chelsea's state-of-the-art training ground last week and said: "I realised how big the club is.

"The set-up is phenomenal and I am glad to be part of it. When you get to a certain stage of your career, it is not about anything else but success and winning trophies.

"The biggest difference now is the pressure in each game, the realisation that you are expected to win every time.

"I've only ever had that with England. I understand those pressures, but I want to enjoy them, not fear them."
