Garry Monk is set to sign a new deal with Swansea City.

The Daily Mail says Monk is expected to sign a new and improved three-year contract with Swansea in the coming days.

An agreement has been largely reached, with Swansea keen to safeguard their 36-year-old manager after an excellent first full season in charge.

His current deal runs until 2017 but the new contract, with enhanced terms and a significant buyout clause, will extend his commitment to the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2018.

An announcement of the new deal could come as early as the start of next week.
