Middlesbrough have confirmed Garry Monk as new manager.

Boro chairman Steve Gibson moved quickly to appoint Monk last week.

A brief statement on their website said: “Middlesbrough FC are delighted to confirm the appointment of Garry Monk as the club's new manager.

“Garry will be officially unveiled at a media conference on Monday."

Monk did enough at Leeds to impress Gibson that he has the touch to get Boro promoted at the first attempt.
