Manchester City have opened talks with Lazio over the transfer of Javier Garrido to the Italian capital, reports the Daily Mail. The 25 year old left-back has slipped further down the pecking order at Eastlands following the arrival of Aleksandar Kolarov from the Serie A side and should move for around £2.5million.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito said: "We are a step closer to the definitive agreement for Garrido."
City boss Roberto Mancini is looking to trim his star-studded squad to operate within the Premier League's 25-man rule.
