Gareth Bale the key as Wales head into Austria showdown

All eyes will be on Gareth Bale as Wales return to World Cup qualifying tonight.

Wales are in Vienna for their Group D clash with Austria.

And it is sure to be a game where Real Madrid star Gareth Bale will have a big influence, particularly with Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey again missing due to injury.

Bale has scored a stunning 10 goals in his last 13 starts for Wales and he also boasts five goals to his name for Real Madrid so far this season.

There is some bitterness between the teams after Austria coach Marc Koller claimed Wales were "lucky" to reach the European Championship semi-finals.

"Sometimes you need to be lucky as well. That is what we could see at Euro 2016 - Wales were very lucky sometimes," Koller said.

"During the Euros they were lucky that a match did not turn in another direction.

However, for many, Wales will go into the game as favourites, as told by the UK´s best betting sites.

A snappy Coleman stated yesterday: "A lot of teams went into [Euro 2016] with big reputations but couldn't handle the pressure - our players handled the pressure.

"I wouldn't put our semi-final achievement down to luck."
