Gardner spies Bolton return after Preston loan spell

Ricardo Gardner has joined Preston North End on-loan with the view to securing his future at Bolton Wanderers.

The long-serving Wanderer believes a spell at Deepdale, where he will remain until April 6, gives him the best chance of making a playing return under Owen Coyle.

"I have been out with a knee problem and had a clean-out but I have put that behind me and come to Preston to get some games in," he told the Bolton News.

"I'm getting closer to my first 90 minutes, so I am pleased. Hopefully, I can go on, continue to get fit and improve.

"It is a lot more physical in the Championship. It is faster and you have no time on the ball but you just have to get on with it.

"It's just down the road and I'm happy to be a part of it."
