Sunderland midfielder Craig Gardner fancies their chances against a wounded Liverpool.
The Reds arrive in poor form and are still searching for their maiden win of the campaign, but Gardner argues that it would be folly to take them lightly.
He told The Journal: "I don't know whether it's a good time to play them. I don't think there's a good time to play anyone, you've got to turn up yourself.
"We certainly turned up against Swansea and Arsenal but if Liverpool do the same to us, it's going to be a tough game.
"I think with home advantage, we've got a chance because the supporters will turn up in numbers and that will be an advantage."
