Aston Villa midfielder Craig Gardner has hailed the impact made this season by James Milner.

Gardner said: "What you see is what you get with James. He is unbelievable in his attitude, his fitness - everything about him.

"It is a shame he is not in the England senior squad because he should be, particularly the way he has played this season.

"He has that 'never-say-die attitude' and he has been an absolutely great signing and you can see why Aston Villa brought him in. He is the best, just brilliant."
