Remi Garde knows how vital Lyon's away goal is in the Europa League Round of 32 contest with Tottenham.
The French side netted through Samuel Umtiti in last week's 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane, in which Gareth Bale scored twice, and Garde feels that could give his side the impetus to play a controlled brand of football at the Stade de Gerland in the return bout on Thursday.
"We know the away goal is very important," he said.
"We need to be patient. We have 90 minutes to qualify. It will be difficult but we can try to close them down and try to cut out their speed.
"To be able to qualify in front of the home fans would be exciting. We won (4-0 against Bordeaux ) last weekend so we have a better mentality now."
