Aston Villa boss Remi Garde is not getting ahead of himself following the first win of his spell at the club.
Villa defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 at Villa Park on Tuesday night to claim their first victory since the opening day of the season when they beat newcomers Bournemouth.
Joleon Lescott headed home the only goal of the contest in the 58th minute and although the result relieves some pressure on Garde, the Frenchman is not about rest on that miniscule achievement.
"We have to stay very humble it's only three points," he said after his 11th game in charge of the club.
"We are far away from what we all want. Of course this victory could give us a little bit more confidence
"I also want to insist on the way we played. The different between Villa and Palace didn't reflect the table.
"I want my players to be more confident and hopefully that's what will happen."
Villa still remain rooted to the bottom of the table, eight points away from safety.
