Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Bordeaux defender Ludovic Lamine Sane.

The Daily Mirror is reporting Villans boss Remi Garde is set to make Sane his first signing of the January transfer window.

It is understood Sane could be the first of a number of loan signings made by Garde this month as he desperately attempts to steer Villa out of the relegation zone.

Bordeaux's chairman Jean-Louis Triaud recently confirmed discussions have taken place with Villa about the Senegalese international.
