Aston Villa boss Remi Garde is frustrated by their lack of January signings.

Garde insisted he will not complain if Villa fail to sign any new players during the January window, but indicated his desire for recruits.

"I'm not here to complain about this kind of thing," he said. "In my position I have to assess the team since I came and recommend about the players and areas where we could improve the team.

'I have ideas. I know a lot of players outside of my team and I would like to have this one and this one because you imagine it could be better. I would be very happy.

"It's my job give the recommendation to the board and chief exec. It's their job to work on the financial part, I don't get involved with that. Sometimes it doesn't work.

"We are working hard to sign players but in our position in the table, it is quite difficult. But hopefully we are getting closer every day it is going on."
