Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has confirmed that he will be looking to sign Bordeaux winger Wahbi Khazri in January.

Khazri has been mentioned by many reports as one of the main targets for Garde as he looks to strengthen his Villa squad during the January transfer window and now the French manager has gone on to confirm that he is looking at the possibility of signing the Tunisian international.

Garde said: "He's a player that I know well because before he left Bastia for Bordeaux I was interested in him with Lyon. He's a good player.

"I don't know the situation with Bordeaux. I don't want to disrespect the club because he's their player and he's under contract.

"I have more important information about him because when you work with a player for a long time in training sessions (as Ray did), you know the way he behaves and could settle into another country."
