Aston Villa manager Remi Garde was more relieved than anything after seeing his team progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday night.
Villa defeated Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 at Villa Park in the third round replay and the Frenchman was happy to see his players overcome a tardy start to pick up their second win in three outings.
Asked if he felt a sense for relief, Garde said: "Yes, you can say that. But I think the result has taken a long time to come but it is fair.
"We were disappointing for the first hour or so, technically poor. But then we started to play more collectively and simple and I am happy with the result.
"The team I started tonight had good players and we should have done better.
"We were the Premier League team tonight and I didn't see that. But everyone knows this type of game is sometimes a trap and we got the victory."
Second-half goals from Ciaran Clark and Idrissa Gueye saw Villa through to the next phase of the cup where they will meet Manchester City at home on January 30.
