Rafael Garcia is well aware it will be tough for him to break into the LA Galaxy first team so is content to bide his time in the reserves.
The midfielder joined the reigning MLS champions via the Supplementary Draft in January and has started to really make an impact for Curt Onalfo's reserve team.
"I love him, I have to say," Onalfo said. "I've always liked him. I loved him in college and was just glad we got him."
But Garcia knows he is up against the likes of David Beckham, Mike Magee, Marcelo Sarvas and Juninho for a spot in midfield so will continue to do what he can for Onalfo's second string side.
"I'm not getting too carried away. Whenever I get the chance just do well and whatever Curt and the coaching staff decided to do with me, I'll respect. I'm just working hard, trying to make a name for myself.""Any time I step on the field I try and make the best of it," Garcia said. "There's a lot of good players so we're going to have to share some time for a while. My mentality is to help the team in any way I can help and get those points.
