Garcia explains revving up Roma fans for opening day win

AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia explained his revving up of the home crowd during their 2-0 opening day victory over Fiorentina.

Radja Nainggolan and Gervinho struck for the Giallorossi.

Garcia spent much of the last half-hour on the touchline urging the crowd to cheer louder.

"Above all we need the fans when it is tough. It was tough after the hour mark, as before then Roma were aggressive, forward-thinking and fast. Thankfully we had a great Morgan De Sanctis who helped the team stay in front.

"It's true the fans realised it was difficult at a certain point, but I want to make an appeal to the fans. In those tough moments if the Olimpico shouts and makes itself heard, it can really make the difference helping the team."
