Garcia courage saluted by Hull City boss

Hull City manager Nigel Pearson has heaped praise on Australian forward Richard Garcia for his ability to play through pain.

The 29-year old is quite clearly not at 100% after he was replaced in just the 14th minute of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace which was the third time in four matches he was unable to finish a match after starting.

Garcia underwent surgery on his knee late last year but has battled through the remainder of the season for the Tigers and his efforts have not gone unnoticed by his boss.

What you have to remember is that Richard plays with injuries that other players wouldn't even dream of taking to the training field with," Pearson told BBC.

"He's managing himself very well. He came off against Doncaster and I thought he was one of our best players by quite a long way against QPR.

"For him to come back and manage himself, playing with an injury, I think he's done exceptionally well.

"Yes it's a worry for us and for him, but hopefully it won't be something that we can't sort out.

"He's a player that's prepared to put himself on the line for the team and I think you've got to remember that."
