Jim Gannon has left Port Vale after just three months and 15 games in charge at Vale Park. Mark Grew will be in charge of first-team affairs for Tuesday night's fixture against Hereford.

Vale slipped out of the League Two play-off places following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Accrington, prompting angry Vale fans to call for Gannon's head.

The former Stockport and Peterborough manager led the team to four wins, four draws and seven defeats during his short tenure.
