Gamba Osaka remain undefeated in Asian Champions League

Reigning Asian champions Gamba Osaka remain undefeated in this season's competition. The Japanese outfit accounted for Indonesian club Sriwijaya 3-0 overnight to go three points clear on top of the Group F table.

Gamba's Leandro opened the account at the Jaka Baring Stadium with a strike in the 30th minute before Hayato Sasaki doubled the advantage just prior to half-time.

The visitors dominated much of the proceedings in the second half but could only add one goal, in the 75th minute through Cho Jae-jin.

Gamba coach Akira Nishino said he was proud of his side for producing a quality performance and was looking at the ultimate prize once again.

"Sriwijaya have proven that they are not easy to beat at home, regardless of the score line," said Nishino.

"They made some chances and were threatening for a while but once we solved their offside trap and scored the opener, everything became easier for us.

"Obviously we have the same target as last year - to become champions again," added the Gamba boss.
