Galliani warns Inzaghi stay may depend on AC Milan top four finish

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says striker Pippo Inzaghi must wait to see if he will win a new deal.

The veteran is no longer a regular starter under coach Leonardo and comes off contract in June.

“Everyone whose contract expires on June 30, 2010 will need to wait until the spring. On that date, we'll see where Milan are,” Galliani explained.

“We have to have the absolute certainty of participating in the Champions League.”

I'd just leave if I were at Milan. Let's face it, they've sold their best player, relied on a coach with no experience, didn't sign a Kaka replacement or spend any real money. They even toyed with the idea of getting rid of Pirlo. Milan was a great team, but they are going to go through a long and hard down cycle before they come back.

this is a huge gamble, some players may respond to pressure whereas others flourish knowing their spot in the squad is secure.
